IRCHA and the AMA
IRCHA is a "SIG" (Special Interest Group) in the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). A SIG is a group of enthusiasts who focus on a specific part of model aviation, like helicopters, drones, or fixed-wing planes.
These groups help represent their area of the hobby, organize events, share tips, and make sure their flying style is supported within the AMA. IRCHA — which stands for the International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association is one of these SIGs. It represents people who are passionate about flying RC helicopters, from beginners to pros. IRCHA works with the AMA to promote safe flying, host big events like the IRCHA Jamboree, and keep the RC helicopter community connected and growing.
